Higuma Bears of Hokkaido Japan

An endangered species, they are reported to have killed humans on several occasions in the wild. These charming predators are not to be reckoned with. Known to the Japanese as Higuma, specific to the lands of Hokkaido, it is estimated that there is only a population of 1900- 2300 left in the wild habitat. With humans killing them and their cousins for bile and other body parts, it comes as no surprise they do what they do to survive.
